Anmol Baby Ergonomic Full Buckled Carrier Review

Babywearing is my passion and is extremely close to my heart. We absolutely cannot survive without it and what better topic than this to start my dream blog :)

I have seen development in the babywearing scene by leaps and bounds since I started my babywearing journey one year ago. It has evolved big time. From wraps to mei tais to ring slings to wovens I have tried everything. What was missing from the scene was an ergonomic safety tested Indian soft structured full buckled carrier.

I ended up buying a Tula ssc from US last December as much to my dismay none of our Indian brands had an ergonomic safe buckled carrier. Soon after buying the tula I got to know that Rashmee Bhatia Gajra-the maker of Anmol wrap is planning to launch her Anmol soft structured full buckled carrier soon.. It was a huge surprise. I was ecstatic and super excited to try it! And I was finally able to lay my hands on it for testing and review :D

I have been using the Anmol baby carrier since two months now and I must say it is an amazing worth-owning product. The first thing that comes to everyones mind - is it safe? - it is the first ergonomic and safety tested Indian ssc made by an Indian Mompreneur. No dangling legs anymore, ergonomic design and soft leg padding which is really comfortable for the baby especially if you are wearing them for long hours. Anmol carrier is the first certified Indian buckled babycarrier compliant with the standards recommended by the BCIA - (Rashmee is a business member of the BCIA).
It aims to use a lot of handwoven and handworked fabric panels which use safe dyes for babies. The carrier can be used from 7-20 kgs. It provides the recommended ergonomic M-shape seating position. It allows both front and back carries and is machine washable. The body canvas is oko tex cerified and the front panel comes in all pretty fabrics and gorgeous colours unlike other sscs with canvas prints. Very chic I must say! I loved sporting the purple flowers.

The high quality buckles as you can see in the picture are super safe. I especially love the double lock system and the third elastic lock. Feels really secure.

The storage pocket on the waistband is very useful. I am able to carry my cellphone, house keys and some cash very easily in it.

I found the hood quite interesting. It can be tucked in inside the front panel so you need not look for a separate space to carry it. No attaching or detaching everytime. When tucked inside I noticed it provides head support to the baby too.

My daughter is 12 kgs and 15 month old. She is about 31.5 inches tall and fits really well in the carrier. The overall feel of the carrier is quite light and you don't feel any extra weight at all. Baby to my delight felt weightless. The padding is light, comfortable and not bulky. Makes it great for summers and prolonged babywearing. My tula was already making us sweat and is little heavier too so this entered our life at the right time. Babywearing in summers will be even more comfortable this year and I am quite excited about that. I find it quite airy and cool. I have caught myself using the Anmol ssc more often than my Tula. Also I am in love with the soft fabric used. No rough edges to bother the baby. It's almost butter-soft. I have worn it many times for 4+ hours at a stretch outside as well as at home while my baby slept in it. It has been a very pleasing and comfortable experience.

No back pain or shoulder pain at all. Baby loves being carried in it. Instant solution to her crankiness or sleeplessness. It has calmed my teething baby numerous times. Wearing them is so much better than carrying them in your arms. No more achey arms now.
We don't do back-carries often as my baby prefers snuggling up more in front carries but whenever tried we enjoyed it. I prefer heading out when I carry her on my back. We get  numerous curious glances outside and we love it ;)

The convenience of a full buckled baby carrier is the major deciding factor for lot of babywearers. Soft structured carriers come with shortest and easiest learning curve. Men find it easiest to handle and mostly prefer to use full buckled carriers(so now you know what to buy if you want your husband to babywear and give you a spa break!). You can wear the Anmol carrier on your own and quickly. Just buckle the waist belt and put your baby in. Remember to wear the waist belt high. Buckle the chest straps and then adjust the shoulder straps according to your comfort.

I must mention the breastfeeding straps added to the carrier are an awesome addition. You can loosen them to lower the baby and nurse comfortably and discreetly. Tighten them when done. You can breastfeed while you do your normal chores or even trekking! How awesome and liberating is that!

I love the carrier and highly recommend it. It's awesome that now we have an equally good product like our international popular counterparts. It's definitely at par. I feel it's going to bring a major revolution in the babywearing scene in India and hopefully people abroad would get to enjoy it too ;)
